Welcome to Botswana! Once you disembark the plane, grab your luggage and head through immigration. You'll be met in the arrivals hall by a representative to welcome you and take you to your scheduled charter flight from Maun to Savute. On arrival, you'll be taken to your first camp to settle in.

Accommodation: Savute Safari Lodge

You'll spend the next couple days in the Savute region of Chobe National Park. Stretching from the Linyanti River all the way to Savute Marsh, the winding waterways of the Savute Channel have pumped life into the western section of Chobe National Park for many thousands of generations. However, this fickle and unpredictable channel, which has a fascinating history of flooding and drying up, independently of good rainy seasons and flood levels elsewhere, has mystified local inhabitants, geologists and others for many years.

Activities are organized around game drives throughout the Savute area in open 4×4 safari vehicles. It can also be arranged to visit the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills – a small hilly outcrop which forms a prominent landmark in the otherwise flat landscape.

The lodge is fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, drinks, national park entry fees, scheduled activities, and laundry service.

Accommodation: Savute Safari Lodge

At the proper time, you'll be taken to the airstrip for your flight into the Okavango Delta and met on arrival for your transfer to your next lodge.

As old as time, the seasonal flood from the Angola Highlands is the heartbeat of Botswana. Seeping along the panhandle and into the largest inland delta system in the world, the water creates a uniquely beautiful National Heritage Site, the incoming tide of life bringing with it birth, transformation and replenishment. These ancient, cyclical changes provide an exceptional safari experience and the area supports vast herds of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as numerous antelope, giraffe, zebra and the ever present predators.

Accommodation: Xugana Island Lodge

Going on safari in the Okavango Delta in Botswana offers a truly unique experience, combining the thrill of wildlife encounters with the serene beauty of one of the world's largest inland deltas. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, ranging from lush wetlands to dry savannas, providing a rich habitat for an array of wildlife.

Xugana Island Lodge is in a private concession offering a range of activities giving you the chance to experience a true Okavango Delta safari. Explore the crystal-clear waterways by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) or motorboat for the chance to enjoy the magnificent variety of bird, plant and reptile species found in the area. Your experienced guide will also take you on a guided nature walk on surrounding islands in the concession, giving you the chance to experience nature up close and personal. Catch and release fishing for bream and tiger fish is also offered as an added activity at the lodge (season dependent). Your stay is fully inclusive.

At the scheduled time, you'll head to the airstrip for your flight into the Makgadikgadi Pans. Following the flight, you'll be greeted by your driver and transferred to camp.

The real allure to the Makgadikgadi Pans is in its minimalism. The pans were once a super lake covering most of Botswana, and they shimmer seemingly never-ending all the way to the horizon, interrupted only by scattering of desert palms and baobabs. The beautiful nothingness brings with it a cathartic sense of silence, and there is truly nowhere on else like this magical corner of Botswana.

The lodge offers guided game drives in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park focusing on the exceptional wildlife sightings along the Boteti River. Depending on the water level, boat activities are also provided. Optional cultural excursions can be arranged to Khumaga Village as well as day trips to Nxai pan and Baines Baobabs.

Accommodation: Leroo La Tau

Today you head deep out into the Makgadikgadi Pans, one of the largest in the world. As the sun sets, the vast, reflective surface of the salt pans transforms into a surreal and tranquil scene. Guests are able to exploring the expansive, otherworldly terrain that is truly unlike anything else. As night falls, the sky unveils a breathtaking display of stars, free from light pollution. Campers are treated to the luxury of a bedroll under the open sky, enveloped by the silence and serenity of the desert. This adventure combines raw natural beauty with a sense of profound solitude and connection to nature. Meals will be cooked over the fire by staff and no detail will be missed to make this an unforgettable experience.

Accommodation: Makgadikgadi Pans Sleep Out

Following breakfast, we'll pack up and head back to Leroo La Tau for your final afternoon in Botswana.

Accommodation: Leroo La Tau

Sadly, today is your last day on safari. You'll be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Maun and onward to your departing international flights or your next destination.
