On a whim, Kirstin applied to a study abroad program her freshman year at the University of Minnesota to study social justice in Cape Town, South Africa (her first time out of the U.S.). That experience instilled a love for learning about histories and cultures and working with people across the globe. Kirstin went on to study in Nairobi and Dol dol, Kenya, majored in Global Studies, and joined the Peace Corps following graduation spending two years in Botswana working in Youth Development and HIV/AIDS education. She traveled around Southern Africa and Southeast Asia over that time, and has continued planning trips solo and with friends and family since.

About Kirstin: Kirstin grew up in a small town in Minnesota and called Minneapolis home for eight years before moving to San Diego, California in 2020. Kirstin's also a yoga instructor and loves live music, photography, and hiking.

Kirstin's Bucket List:

India - Jaipur, Udaipur, Goa, Varanasi, and Rishikesh. The dream would be to spend at least a month...or two.

Cuba - Can't stop thinking about La Fábrica de Arte Cubano and the architecture in Havana.

Mozambique Island - Ever since Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations episode...I tried to get there once but there were some hiccups along the way, so hopefully I make it there someday.

There's a small group travel company I've been eyeing up for years that does trips to West Africa, specifically to Ghana, Togo, and Benin.

Sri Lanka has also been on my radar for awhile. I love beachy destinations.
