Quick Getaway to Costa Rica

With its vast rainforest, expansive coastline, beaches, volcanoes and countless wildlife destinations, most travelers can appreciate any number of reasons to visit Costa Rica.

But what many travelers don’t know is that Costa Rica can actually be experienced as a quick trip, with a variety of local luxury accommodations suited for couples, families or groups. Several of our favorite Costa Rican properties—From the highly recommended boutique, adults-only Kura hotel in the Uvitar rainforest to a lush paradise hotel and spa in the heart of the Arenal Volcano National Park (with its own sloth preserve on site!)—are perfectly equipped for a 4- to 5-day stay. And what we love so much about Costa Rica (aside from the obvious) is how it can suit just about anyone, from the indulgent spa-goer to the wildlife enthusiast and adventure-seeker.

Kura Boutique Hotel

Situated in the heart of the Uvita rainforest, the adults-only Kura boutique hotel and villas features just eight luxury suites, a modern tropical design and panoramic views at the edge of the property’s infinity pool. Known for exuding glamor and romance, Kura is the ideal home base for couples or small groups seeking an indulgent, private and relaxing quick trip to Costa Rica.

Pacuare Lodge

If it’s white water rafting you are seeking, consider a quick trip to Pacuare Lodge on the banks of the scenic Pacuare River. Its scenic backdrop and just 20 luxury suites featuring farm-to-table cuisine allow visitors to experience the local white water rides while indulging in some of the area’s finest eco-tourism and relaxation.

Nayara Gardens

For an authentic rainforest experience and a quick trip through Costa Rica’s volcano and thermal spa highlights, Nayara Gardens is a luxury paradise in the heart of the Arenal Volcano National Park. Here, visitors can indulge in Nayara’s luxurious accommodations, cuisine and spa, while partaking in any number of eco-adventures including private and customized itineraries, and even an on-site sloth reserve.

Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River

Adventure seekers looking to spend four to five days in Costa Rica will enjoy the Rio Perdido Hotel & Thermal River — an on site adventure in and of itself. Situated on the western side of Costa Rica, Perdido offers local hot spring swims, forest excursions on foot or by mountain bike, yoga, zip-lines, white water tubing and more; all of which provide unique vantage points for exploring the countless species of wildlife and Costa Rican ‘pura vida.’

Florblanca

For a quick yoga and spa excursion, visitors to Costa Rica can indulge in the pristine beaches of the Nicoya Peninsula at Florblanca. Adventure-meets-relaxation here, with healthy and locally sourced cuisine; surfing; hiking; horseback riding; and professionally guided yoga and pilates practices. Guests can then rejuvenate at the stunning Spa Bambu.
